Health & Safety Specialist
The role of a Health and Safety Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the well-being of employees and stakeholders on construction sites. As a key member of the HSE team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing project-specific HSE plans, conducting regular site visits to monitor compliance and provide hands-on support, and adapting HSE strategies to address site-specific challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans aligned with client requirements.
* Conduct frequent visits to multiple project sites to monitor compliance and provide hands-on support.
* Adapt HSE strategies to site-specific challenges and changing project phases.
* Maintain and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and COSHH assessments.
* Get involved in the design and implementation of HSE improvement programs and initiatives.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Decision-making and action initiation.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Technical knowledge and industry best practices.
* Presentation and report writing skills.
* Planning and organization.
* Experience with ISO 45001 management systems.
* Occupational Health and Safety qualification or equivalent.
* IOSH membership.
* Full clean driving license and willingness to travel across multiple sites.
* Occupational First Aid and/or Mental Health First Aid qualification.
* Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Experience undertaking Health and Safety audits.
* Team working and self-motivation.
* Data analysis, particularly trend identification.
* Clear communicator with excellent interpersonal and training skills.
