The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will have both operational and strategic managerial functions asdeterminedby the Director of Nursing.
This will include a strong focus on the provision of professional and clinical leadership across Hospice Nursing & Care Services.
The ADON willbe responsible forensuring the provision of high qualityevidencedbased nursing practice across Hospice services.
She/He willbe responsible forensuring that paediatric palliative Nursing care and Nursing service delivery is adapted to meet the emerging needs of children and to reflect best practice on a continuous basis.
In doing so they will ensure a child and family centeredness approach to service developments and delivery.
The ADON will manage, provide leadership and support to nursing staff and healthcare assistants in the hospice service.
They will lead on quality including service user safety, clinicaleffectivenessand service user experience.
He/she will act as a professional and clinical leader in the development of clinical practice and standards to ensure the service users, their relatives and carers have a positive experience when accessing and receiving care or services from LauraLynn Irelands Childrens Hospice.
The ADON will have a lead role in the clinical governance of Hospice Nursing services, this willincludecontributing to the development of key process and outcome standards andobjectives, the development of Key performance indicators and monitoring of same, taking a lead in quality assurance programmes.

7 years post registration nursing experience.
3years experienceata CNM grade/equivalent.
Managerial/leadership experienceat CNM2/CNM3 or higher.
Evidence of post registrationeducation.
Evidence of successful servicedevelopment,improvementor service redesign.
Experience of delivering significantimprovements to ensure patient care and family satisfaction.
