Job Description
ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational Life Sciences client at their Biologics facility in Limerick. Initial 12 month contract on offer and Hybrid working arrangement available.
The ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST will;
1. Be part of a team that will implement the requirements/conditions set out in the site's IED (Industrial Emissions) License, Greenhouse Gas Permit and other Environmental Programs.
2. Provide technical assistance for the site's environmental programs, including air emissions, wastewater discharges, soil and groundwater management, surface water management, waste management, and environmental noise control.
3. Ensure that the company adheres to both local and Corporate environmental standards.
4. Act as the point of contact for environmental compliance and site performance.
5. Help create a positive culture for environmental performance.
Role of this position
6. Facilitate the implementation of various environmental programs across the site.
7. Assist in implementing the conditions set out in the site's new IED License and Greenhouse Gas Permit and as part of that support the site's environmental sampling and monitoring requirements.
8. Be a resource to all areas in helping them understand the regulatory requirements of their areas and programs. Work with them in implementing solutions that comply with these regulations and programs.
9. Participate in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) improvement projects for optimization, simplification and streamline of EHS processes related to Environmental Programs.
10. Stay up to date on new environmental regulations that could impact the company's operations.
11. Assist in achieving environmental objectives and goals.
12. Confident in compiling environmental reports for both regulatory and corporate requirements.
13. Participate in the revision and update of the written programs.
14. Deliver instructor lead training for environmental courses.
15. Inspect the various env programs periodically as they develop and mature and ensure they remain compliant with requirements.
16. Be part of a team to participate in regulatory inspections as applicable.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
17. BSc or MSc in Environmental Science or similar
18. 3+ years experience working in the pharmaceutical industry.
19. Previous Experience working with an IED Licence is an advantage.
