Overview:
My client are a family run/owned business that have been operating in Ireland since 1978 and have been under its current leadership since 1998. Their core offerings include civil engineering services and comprehensive road/airfield maintenance and construction.
They are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role provides great flexibility to allow the successful candidate to work a 4 day week whilst operating a hybrid working model for the 4 working days. Their office is based in Navan, Meath.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all financial and contractual aspects of our projects, with a strong focus on road maintenance particularly involving bituminous and tar surfacing works.
2. Manage all contractual and financial elements of road maintenance projects to ensure delivery on budget, on time, and to specified standards.
3. Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
4. Oversee procurement activities in line with framework and compliance requirements.
5. Maintain up-to-date records of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring they are vetted, approved, and compliant.
6. Lead tendering and quoting processes from pre-qualification through to submission, ensuring profitability.
7. Monitor and control project costs, preparing regular cost and progress reports for senior management.
8. Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency.
Requirements:
9. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Construction with relevant experience would be highly beneficial.
10. Proven experience in a commercial, estimating, or quantity surveying role within the road maintenance or civil engineering sector.
11. Strong understanding of bituminous / tar surfacing works, materials, and methods would be highly advantageous.
