Accountant Our client is a long-established and highly regarded Irish manufacturing business based in West Cork with a strong reputation for quality, sustainability, and innovation.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team and play a key role in supporting the financial operations and strategic direction of the organisation.
This role can be based in either Cork City or West Cork, offering flexibility depending on the successful candidates location.
Location: Cork City or West Cork Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive dependent on experience The Role: Reporting to senior management, the Finance Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective support for business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department.
Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts.
Support senior management with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
Liaise with and support external auditors during statutory audits.
Manage relationships with third-party service providers including ICT, payroll, and pension providers.
Review and enhance financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
Contribute to the companys sustainability reporting and initiatives.
Ensure completion of external financial reporting and filings (e.g.
CSO, Revenue).
Skills & Experience: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
Previous staff management or supervisory experience.
Strong ERP and Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel.
Experience with payroll processes is advantageous.
Strong IT skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
