Job Description
Role: IMT Flagship Programme Support
Duration: 18‑month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: €47,000
Reporting to: Strategic Training Projects Manager
Closing date: 25 May 2026 at 16:00
All work undertaken within this role will support the overarching principle that patient care remains the priority across all hospital activities and the college is willing and able to support sites to deliver effective training. This role is important for the effective delivery and evaluation of the flagship programme and to ensure no additional pressure is put on BST or local teams with this change.
Key Purpose

Act as the main administrative contact for consultants, trainees, and medical manpower teams involved in the Flagship Internal Medicine Training Programme
Provide administrative support to the management of the Flagship programme
Travel regularly to training sites in Dublin, Galway, and Limerick to build relationships and support local programme delivery
Coordinate local review panels and quarterly meetings
Compile reports of trainee metrics
Coordinate basic research tasks associated with the programme
Develop strong working relationships with in‑hospital teams supporting trainees
Support the BST operations team
Support the Education Delivery Team in managing teaching for flagship trainees

Structure of Role

Reporting to Strategic Training Projects Manager
Standing meetings with BST Manager and Team Lead
Provide administrative support directly to programme directors in relation to tasks associated with the flagship programme
This is a hybrid role with an estimate of up to 50% on‑site activity

This will include same‑day travel to Limerick and Galway
Candidates should expect at least two days per week in office, with variation at points in the programme



Day to Day Role

Work as a member of the Internal Medicine Review Project Team
Support the IMT project manager with the delivery of the flagship programme
Lead the coordination, documentation and communication of trainee information
Monitor the frequency and quality of trainee‑trainer meetings
Coordinate trainer meetings and programme governance meetings
Maintain an up‑to‑date database of trainees and trainers across the Programme
Support trainee progression and respond to trainee‑related issues or queries
Coordinate research‑related activities associated with the flagship programme
Support the organisation of focus groups
Manage surveys and research data collection
Liaise with the programme’s research sub‑group
Support the planning of the 2027 programme intake
Collect and collate programme data for reports and evaluations
Monitor compliance with training standards and accreditation requirements
Assist in organising training events, educational activities, and site visits
Facilitate communication between training bodies and local sites
Support initiatives such as educational programmes, examinations, and mentoring activities as required

Requirements

Proven track record of achievement in projects administration
Basic research experience

What We Offer

Flexibility: 35‑hour week hybrid working model. This role will have regular on‑site days in Galway and Limerick, as well as in‑office days. Expect up to 3 in‑person days per week, occasionally less and possibly more at peak points.
