We advise main contractors, sub-contractors, public bodies and private sector clients in relation to all aspects of construction and engineering contracts, claims and disputes. To achieve this at a high standard, our team have construction and/or legal expertise, qualifications and experience.The department also provides public sector procurement services, this will be an integral part of the Senior Associate position. Our services encompass assisting public bodies in procuring goods and services legally and cost effectively; assisting suppliers in successfully tendering; and in challenging unlawful procurement processes.Our people pride themselves on making an impact through providing an excellent, results and solutions focussed service to our clients.What you'll be doing:Confidently engaging with clients, on the phone and at face-to-face meetings.Completing work for clients to a high quality, in a timely manner.Confidently handling a range of construction and procurement law matters, providing sound advice to clients.Producing letters, legal documents, tender documentation and contracts to a high standard.Delivering seminars on construction law and procurement topics.Designing and delivering formal 'in-house' training for clients.Dealing with negotiation and opposition representation.Demonstrating leadership skills.Actively participating in networking and business development work.What do I need?Detailed knowledge of the commercial, legal and policy aspects of the construction industry and/or public procurement.A strong academic background in a construction/legal related field.An excellent track record in your primary discipline with supporting references.A sound commercial knowledge and keen interest in the legal aspects of the construction industry.An ability to manage Junior members of the team.An ability to meet deadlines efficiently and to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at every stage; andA strong desire to develop a career with an ambitious firm.Experience in successfully winning new clients through business development activity.What's in it for you?Apart from the competitive salary you'd expect, our package of benefits reflects our values of partnership, innovation, and being real people.
