Executive Quantity Surveyor
This role is for a Executive Quantity Surveyor reporting directly to the Line Manager in Clare County Council.
The portfolio covers the full range of quantity surveying services from project inception to final account.
Responsibilities
Administer Quantity Surveying Services from project inception to final completion stage of projects.
Carry out feasibility studies, prepare pricing documents, bills, cost plans and estimates.
Predict potential risks and mitigate them.
Procure, administer and manage contract notices via e-tenders.
Analyse contractor suitability and contractual claims.
Manage external procured consultant design teams.
Submit department approvals and determine cost forms.
Ensure correct insurances are in place.
Prepare risk analysis for projects.
Prepare and monitor contract documentation.
Monitor project progress, duration, cost control and contractual matters.
Attend project team meetings, take minutes.
Valuation of construction and building work.
Handle claims and dispute management.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications
Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying prescribed under the Building Control Act ****, or an equivalent qualification
Eligible for registration as a Quantity Surveyor without further assessment
Minimum of five years satisfactory experience
High standard of technical training and experience
High standard of administrative experience
Good scientific report-writing skills
Familiarity with health & safety legislation and Clare County Council's OHSMS
Working Hours
The post requires a five-day, thirty-five-hour working week.
Flexibility to work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
Salary & Leave
The salary is fully inclusive and determined from time to time according to the salary scale set by the Department Circular.
The annual leave entitlement is 30 days per annum.
Public holidays and leave arrangements follow the Organisation of Working Time Act ****.
