A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Psychologist, Principal Specialist - IHA Dublin South & Wicklow from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Purpose of the Post: To provide oversight, leadership, strategic development and clinical governance of all senior / basic grade psychologists within CMHT, Inpatient Unit, POA and R&R Teams.
The Psychologist, Principal Specialist will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team, working with senior clinicians to ensure an effective evidence-based delivery of psychological interventions across mental health in DSE.
S/he will contribute significantly to service planning, development, evaluation and quality initiatives.
The post holder will lead and be responsible for the effective delivery of quality Psychology services within community and inpatient units.
Psychology service provision includes assessment, formulation, intervention, consultation, research, education and support, from a multi-theoretical base and across all relevant domains and difficulties.
The post holder will provide expert Psychology services to one or more service teams as required / one or more sectors as part of the multidisciplinary team, and across sectors in relation to any identified specialist skills.
Such psychological leadership and services will be provided in line with service plans and objectives, and within established professional standards, guidelines and policy.
The post holder holds line-management responsibilities for all Senior Psychologist/ Basic Grade Staff in Adult Mental Health Psychology Services.
They will work closely with Principal Psychologist Manager and other Principal Psychologist Specialist (Talking Therapies and Eating Disorders) to ensure an efficient and productive psychology service is implemented.
