We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Driver Helper to support delivery operations within our alcohol distribution business in Cork. The role involves assisting the driver with deliveries, ensuring products are handled safely, and providing excellent customer service to licensed premises and retail outlets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the driver with loading and unloading alcoholic beverages (kegs, cases, bottles) onto/off the delivery vehicle.
2. Safely handle and transport products to customer premises (including pubs, restaurants, and retail outlets).
3. Verify delivery notes and support accurate stock counts at delivery points.
4. Ensure all deliveries comply with company policies and legal requirements for alcohol distribution.
5. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the delivery vehicle.
6. Provide courteous customer service during deliveries.
7. Support the driver with route navigation and efficient delivery scheduling.
Requirements
8. Ability to perform manual handling of heavy loads (kegs, crates).
9. Good level of physical fitness.
10. Strong work ethic and reliability.
11. Basic literacy and numeracy for checking orders and paperwork.
12. Team player with good communication skills.
13. Manual Handling Certificate (advantageous, training may be provided).
14. Experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations an advantage.
Working Conditions
15. Early morning starts (typical in drinks distribution).
16. Shift-based work with potential weekend or public holiday duties.
17. Based in Cork and surrounding areas, with occasional longer routes.
