Senior Site Engineer Cork City Location: Cork City Project: Large-scale multi-phase residential development Type: Full-time, permanent A leading residential developer is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their team on a major multi-phase development in Cork City.
This role is ideal for an ambitious engineer who can deliver high-quality residential buildings at scale while providing technical leadership on a busy construction site.
Key Responsibilities Technical & Setting Out Lead all setting-out activities using GPS, robotic total station and other surveying equipment.
Ensure all works comply with technical drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
Oversee quality control across substructure, concrete frame, envelope, civils, and finishing packages.
Engineering Leadership Supervise and mentor junior site engineers.
Manage RFIs, engineering queries, drawings, and technical coordination.
Work closely with Architects, Structural Engineers, and Design Teams on buildability and technical issues.
Programme & Site Coordination Monitor progress against programme and provide structured reporting.
Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager with planning, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
Maintain accurate documentation including QA checklists, inspections, and as-built records.
Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure works are delivered in accordance with safety standards and project-specific protocols.
Assist EHS teams with inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
Stakeholder & Team Communication Attend project meetings with internal and external teams.
Communicate engineering issues clearly, offering solutions and technical guidance.
Build strong relationships with subcontractors and consultants.
Requirements Essential Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering or related field.
5+ years experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer.
Proven experience on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.
Strong setting-out experience with modern surveying equipment.
Ability to supervise junior engineers and oversee QA processes.
Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and BC(A)R.
Excellent communication, technical understanding, and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience on multi-block reinforced concrete frame projects.
Experience with MMC/off-site construction methods.
Familiarity with digital construction tools (Procore, BIM 360, etc.).
