Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Podiatrist to join our team in Palmerstown. This is an exciting opportunity for a healthcare professional who wants to build their clinical skills and make a positive impact on patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Treat a variety of skin ailments, including verrucas, corns, and calluses.
* Assess and treat ingrown toenails, clip toe nails, and provide general foot care.
* Treat patients with diabetes at increased risk of foot disease who require preventative care and assistance.
* Determine the condition of a patient's feet, ankles, or lower legs through medical history review, physical examination, and consultation.
* Diagnose foot, ankle, and lower-leg problems through physical exams and other methods.
* Provide treatment for foot, ankle, and lower leg ailments, including prescribing special shoe inserts (orthotics) to improve and correct foot and ankle deformities.
* Give advice and instruction on foot and ankle care and general wellness techniques.
* Educate patients on how to improve and/or manage conditions.
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals to exchange information about patients' backgrounds and progress.
* Refer patients to other physicians or specialists if larger health problems are detected, such as diabetes.
* Meet continuous education requirements and maintain up-to-date CPD folders.
* Write patient case notes and reports, collect statistics, manage payments, and issue receipts.
* Place stock orders and log repairs.
* In some cases, supervise student and junior podiatrists and enhance teaching skills.
* Manage clinical risk and have excellent infection control awareness.
* Be caring, compassionate, and professional, with the patient at the core of everything you do.
* Contribute to creating blogs and content for social media and other marketing channels.
* Collaborate with the marketing team and provide on-the-ground feedback from time to time.
