An opportunity has arisen in BAM Ireland’s office in Kill (County Kildare) for a Principal Occupational Health & Safety Advisor on a 9-month contract.
Your Mission
* Model BAM values and behaviors.
* Lead and develop a strong health and safety culture across the segment.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
* Attend senior leadership meetings, providing expert advice and support.
* Advise and support during significant health and safety incidents, including investigation and reporting.
* Lead interactions with external agencies during major incidents.
* Use feedback and management data to improve policies, systems, and processes.
* Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are properly developed, monitored, and maintained.
* Identify opportunities for safety improvements and assist leadership in implementation.
* Regularly review and develop the health and safety management system in line with industry best practices.
* Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated according to company policy.
* Perform duties as a matrix manager.
* Carry out other relevant duties as required.
* Deputize for the Director of Occupational Health and Safety as needed.
* Assist in compiling OHS reports as required.
Who Are We Looking For?
* A degree or diploma in occupational health and safety.
* Chartered or Certified Membership of IOSH.
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET/PTLLS).
* Successful management experience on a construction site or FM facility.
* Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Ability to deliver health and safety training.
* Experience leading major incident investigations.
* Thorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards.
* Strong organizational and motivational skills.
