We are looking for an experienced Site Operations Manager to join our team in Galway.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
Partner with contract and project managers to ensure projects align with company strategy and values.
Apply and monitor the Last Planner System (LPS) to improve predictability and planning accuracy.
Support foremen and site teams to fully understand their responsibilities.
Drive proactive planning focused on constructability and efficient delivery methods.
Coordinate with the Labour & Plant Coordinator to allocate resources effectively across multiple projects.
Provide technical expertise during both tender and delivery stages.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE)
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSQE management systems.
Carry out monthly HSQE inspections and generate reports.
Champion safe work practices across all teams and subcontractors.
Ensure quality requirements are consistently met and address non-conformances promptly.
Manage PIRs to resolve defects and share lessons learned.
Monitor environmental measures and ensure waste management compliance.
Productivity & Performance Improvement
Track and analyze productivity across sites, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Lead the implementation of Productivity Improvement Plans.
Monitor working hours, training needs, travel, and resource efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement using data analysis, lean practices, and innovation.
Resource Management
Manage and guide the Labour & Plant Coordinator to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
Oversee labor and equipment planning across the company's projects.
Work with the Plant Department on equipment needs, site facilities, and maintenance.
Review plant performance and explore opportunities for innovation in equipment use and logistics.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Collaborate with departments including design, plant, HR, HSQE, and commercial teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Contribute to tender reviews, resource planning, and constructability assessments.
Support HR with recruitment, training, and workforce planning.
Partner with HSQE teams to maintain high safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Commercial Management
Contribute to budget reviews, program updates, and forecasting.
Track and compare project costs against budgets.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
Leadership & Reporting
Mentor and develop site teams, fostering accountability and a strong team culture.
Lead by example, promoting operational excellence and company values.
Provide regular reports to senior management on project progress, HSQE, costs, and resource utilization.
Candidate Profile
Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction operations, with proven success managing multiple project sites.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Expertise in project planning, resource allocation, and productivity management.
In-depth knowledge of HSQE regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across different levels of the organization.
