Job Description:
St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968, the Foundation has grown through responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. We provide services such as day services, residential, respite care, and home support in North Cork and South West Limerick regions, including locations like Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, and others.
We are a lead agency in Cork Kerry Community Healthcare for the North West Cork and North East Cork Children's Disability Network Teams, formed under the National Progressing Disability Services Scheme, based in Mallow and Fermoy.
Positions: Permanent, Full-time, Part-time & Relief (Residential Services)
Ideal candidates will have:
* A qualification in Nursing and registration with An Bord Altranais (R.N.I.D. qualification desirable).
* The ability to work independently and supervise service users/staff.
* Experience managing behaviour that challenges.

Job Title: Staff Nurse
Reporting Relationship: CNM1, CNM2, Person In Charge (PIC), Area Manager
Relationships: Volunteers, staff as assigned
Liase With: All staff in Adult/Children's Services and Multidisciplinary Team
Commitment: Residential Services (up to 37.5 hours per week)
Initial Assignment: Rostered duty including 7/14 duty as per rosters and mobility programme
Location: South Limerick (subject to change)
Job Goal: Support service users to meet their physical, mental, social, emotional, and behavioural needs, in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Main Duties:
* Responsible for the general well-being of service users
* Provide physical, psychological, and social care
* Recognize and report problems, assist in implementing programmes
* Deliver care professionally, adhering to HIQA requirements
* Foster family involvement and liaise with families
* Create a therapeutic environment respecting individual needs
* Design and coordinate educational, training, and work programmes
* Maintain records and reports
* Support and relief for other nursing programmes as needed
* Manage household finances responsibly
* Build respectful and independent relationships with residents
Leadership:
* Manage, develop, and support staff, including induction and training
* Lead team in supporting Person Centred Plans
* Goal setting and development with staff
* Attend meetings, case conferences, and training
* Ensure policy adherence and effective communication
* Promote dignity and respect in the workplace
General:
* Promote positive awareness of learning disabilities
* Stay informed about developments and standards
* Act as a Key Worker as required
* Drive Foundation Transport with full clean licence and insurance
