About This Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Software Engineer with a strong foundation in software engineering and AI / ML to join our AI enablement team whose mission is to accelerate the discovery, design, and delivery of AI-enabled use cases across the organization.
As a Senior Software Engineer in AI, you will research, experiment, and build reusable AI frameworks, tools, and reference implementations that our teams can use to deliver AI-powered capabilities quickly and safely.
You will prototype, validate, and deliver AI solutions, while also shaping architectural standards and enabling teams to adopt them effectively.
The ideal candidate will excel in applying artificial intelligence to Telecom use cases and demonstrate advanced proficiency in Python, cloud-native technologies, and modern software engineering practices.
What You Will Do
Research latest advancements in AI, cloud infra, Kubernetes or related fields, and rapidly prototype and evaluate new approaches through proofs of concept and experiments
Engineer and evolve reusable AI frameworks, libraries, and tooling using state-of-the-art software engineering techniques, with a strong focus on Python and cloud-native development
Partner with engineering teams to shape AI use cases, select appropriate architectural patterns and provide hands-on support during early implementation phases
Contribute to AI strategy, architectural guidelines, and best practices and help define approved AI components, services, and integration patterns
Operate and optimise existing solutions in any cloud environment, ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Apply critical thinking to analyse requirements, architect solutions, and troubleshoot complex technical challenges
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for AI solutions, algorithms, and engineering processes
Evaluate and integrate third-party AI tools and libraries as needed, applying rigorous software engineering standards
Optimise and fine-tune generative models for performance, scalability, and accuracy, leveraging strong programming and analytical skills
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality, production-ready deliverables
Mentor and guide junior team members in AI, machine learning, and software engineering best practices
You will Bring
Typically 5+ years of software engineering or equivalent practical experience
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems (Gen AI (LLMs, RAG, agents, prompt engineering) and classical ML (training, inference))
Experience integrating AI models into real-world applications
Proficiency in Python, and familiarity with common AI frameworks and platforms (e.g.
Py Torch, Lang Chain etc.).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS), containerisation (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Good understanding of deep learning architectures, neural networks, and natural language processing (NLP).
Experience with data preprocessing, augmentation, and handling large datasets.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills
Advanced programming skills in Python and proficiency with AI/ML frameworks
Hands on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure and AWS
Understanding of software development best practices, Git, CI/CD, agile methodologies and Dev Ops principles
Experience deploying and operating AI services at scale (rollout/rollback, autoscaling, cost controls)
Proficiency in other backend languages is an advantage (Java, Go, Type Script)
Publications or contributions to the AI/ML or software engineering community are a plus
