As
Product Quality Engineer,
you will work closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering activities. You'll play a critical role in identifying and mitigating design-related quality risks, particularly in electronic and embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with R&D to assess and influence electronic product designs for quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance
* Review and evaluate electronic schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware specifications to identify potential quality risks
* Lead and support Design FMEA (DFMEA) and design-related root cause investigations
* Support verification & validation (V&V) strategies during NPI
* Provide quality input into hardware and software testing, including embedded systems and firmware functionality
* Support new vendor and electronic component approvals, working closely with Purchasing and Engineering
* Perform statistical analysis of parametric and test data to identify trends and risks
* Act as technical quality support for Production, Test Engineering, and Process Quality, resolving product-related issues
* Ensure design traceability, documentation, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards
* Represent Quality in design reviews and product development meetings
* Support audits and regulatory inspections related to design controls
* Drive continuous improvement in electronic design quality and development processes
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electrical, Software Engineering or related discipline
* 5+ years' experience in a Quality or R&D role within a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, automotive, life safety, etc.)
* Strong understanding of electronic product development lifecycles and design controls
* Experience working with hardware / firmware integration
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
Skills & Competencies
* Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and circuit designs
* Experience with DFMEA, risk management, and root cause analysis
* Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware, or low-level software
* Comfortable working with PCBs, electronic components, and test data
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and validation results
* Excellent cross-functional communication skills between Quality, R&D, and Operations
