The Role:
Medical Secretary
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patients
2. Ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete
3. Creating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronically
4. Filing the paperwork and reports of inpatients quickly and accurately
5. Coordinating administrative activities for busy ward sections (in an acute hospital setting)
6. Undertaking general office administration, including filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning, sending mail and general clerical work
7. Data input - processing data through internal systems, formulating and maintaining databases
8. Answering the telephone, dealing effectively with queries or referring to other staff
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm | 35 hours per week
Requirements:
9. A minimum of 1-2 years' relevant experience in a similar administrative role, ideally in the health care field
10. Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Word and Excel
11. Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively
12. Strong customer support experience with an excellent telephone manner
13. Experience of handling correspondence and handling sensitive and confidential data
14. Excellent attention to detail with good analytic skills
