The OrganisationCRY Ireland (Cardiac Risk in the Young) is a national charity supporting families affected by sudden cardiac death and inherited cardiac conditions. CRY facilitates access to cardiac evaluation. Founded in 2002, CRY provides free family support services across the island of Ireland and is guided by a new five-year strategy based on five core pillars:Family SupportAwarenessFundraisingResearchGovernanceCRY Ireland currently receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of individuals, communities and organisations.The RoleCRY Ireland are seeking a Trustee with professional experience in fundraising, marketing, or income generation to support the ongoing development and growth of the organisation.We are particularly seeking an individual with expertise to support the development of our fundraising strategies, contribute to the cultivation of partnerships, and advise on innovative approaches to income generation that will strengthen the organisation's long-term sustainability.This is a voluntary position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of CRY Ireland while working alongside a dedicated and passionate team of staff, volunteers, and fellow Trustees.Responsibilities Will Include The FollowingAdvising on the development and implementation of fundraising strategiesSupporting the cultivation and stewardship of donor, corporate, and community relationshipsContributing to marketing and communications initiatives that raise awareness of CRY's workHelping identify new partnership opportunities and income streamsActing as an ambassador for CRY, promoting the organisation and its missionContributing to strategic discussions at Board level and offering sound, informed guidanceAdvocating for best practice in fundraising governance and donor stewardship.General Trustee duties of a Charity TrusteeComply with the Charity's governing documentEnsuring charity is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefitActing in the best interest of the charityAct with Reasonable Care and SkillManage the assets of your charityWe Are Seeking Applicants Who Can DemonstrateA strong commitment to the values and objectives of CRY IrelandRelevant expertise in marketing, fundraising, partnerships, business development or income generationThe ability to contribute effectively to strategic discussions and decision-makingA willingness to act as a positive advocate and ambassador for the organisationBoard MeetingsThere will be 5 Board meetings per year.The role requires a minimum 3–4 hours per month, including payment approvals and financial oversight activities.Meetings are normally held virtually on an evening, with one in person meeting in Dublin per year.Committee MeetingsTrustees are requested to join at least one of the following sub-committees: Fundraising, Governance, Research, Family Support and Communications
