Resident Program Aide at Extendicare Bayview
Part-time Evening 4-8 PM (Temporary)

Applications are invited for the part-time temporary position of Resident Program Aide at our long-term care home located in North York, Ontario.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will work directly with residents and across all departments, including nursing, support services, administration, and program services. As a valued member of Long-Term Care Services, you will demonstrate a commitment to resident safety by providing quality services aligned with the organization’s mission and vision. Responsibilities may include resident-specific programming, companionship, portering, light housekeeping and laundry tasks, meal service, and clerical duties. This position also involves active participation in the infection prevention and control program and assisting with the orientation of new staff as needed.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* Proof of successful completion of an approved Recreation and Leisure Services / Gerontology Diploma or Degree program, with at least 3 recreation courses completed.
* Knowledge and demonstrated experience in individual and group program planning, care planning, resident assessments, implementation, and evaluation for the geriatric population, especially those cognitively impaired.
* Familiarity with documentation processes such as ActivityPro and PointClickCare.
* Ability to plan, implement, evaluate, develop, and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs, under the supervision of the Program Manager. Includes setting up and cleaning activity areas and transporting residents to and from programs.
* Monitor residents' behavior and condition during programs, reporting significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate program and resident records according to departmental policies. Communicate residents’ participation to registered staff.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
