About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant (Band 7) on behalf of our client
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced qualified accountant to join a busy Finance team, supporting senior managers and budget holders through the provision of high-quality financial management, business case development, financial analysis and reporting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial planning, budget management, service development proposals and strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide financial support and advice to senior managers and budget holders.
Develop business cases and service development proposals through detailed financial analysis and costing information.
Investigate financial variances and contribute to the implementation of corrective actions.
Support financial planning, monitoring returns and monthly financial reporting.
Assist with capital reporting and monitoring of asset acquisition programmes.
Support annual budget setting, budget monitoring and financial control processes.
Produce and analyse management accounting information and reports.
Deliver financial information and guidance to budget holders to support effective decision-making.
Participate in internal and external working groups and contribute specialist financial expertise.
Liaise with auditors and support implementation of agreed recommendations.
Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function.
Essential Criteria Applicants must possess:
CCAB Qualified Accountant status.
A minimum of 3 years' relevant financial management experience.
At least 1 year's experience of budgetary control and the preparation of management accounting information and reports.
At least 1 year's experience in business case production.
Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve successful financial management outcomes.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to analyse and present complex financial information.
Desirable Criteria
Experience of Health and Social Care (HSC) financial systems.
