Job Title: Health Care Assistant- Tallaght Reports To: Health Care Supervisor / Branch Manager Location: North & South Dublin Job Type: Part Time, Full Time *Join our care team today*

The role of a Health Care Assistant is to support the Customer to live happily and safely at home.
This may involve assisting them with personal care, such as showering or bathing, assisting with dressing, assisting with incontinence care, assisting with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
Responsibilities:
Practice and maintain the most recent protocol in relation to safety procedures, such as Person Moving and HandlingReport any concerns in relation to the Customer, or colleagues if they are not working within safe boundaries to your managerReport any safeguarding incidents or what you may think is safeguarding to your managerDocument accurately and factually in the daily logs, all tasks completed with the Customer for each shiftAlways maintain confidentialityAttend any training scheduled for you by InisCare & Work within safe and professional boundariesEnsure each task performed with the Customer (medication prompt, personal care, meal preparation, etc) is completed with dignity and respect for the Customer.Encourage autonomy and decision makingTalk with the Customer throughout the shift, regardless of their verbal and cognitive ability, ensuring that all conversations are within a professional contextAttend shifts as scheduled and contact the office in a timely manner if you are unable to attend a shift or are late.

QQI Level 5 Health care Award or equivalentAdditional Training Requirements
Children's First – HSE LANDSafeguarding – HSE LANDDementia Training – HSE LANDGDPR Training – HSE LANDAMRIC Basics of Infection Prevention and Control – HSE LANDAMRIC Hand Hygiene – HSE LANDPutting on and taking off PPE in Community Healthcare- HSE LANDSkills:
Basic patient care: bathing, dressing, feedingAssisting with mobility and exerciseEffective verbal and written communication & Active listeningFollowing instructions and protocolsProviding companionship and emotional supportFamiliarity with healthcare equipment and devicesTime management and task prioritizationCompetencies:
Empathy and compassionUnderstanding and responding to emotional needsEffective teamwork within a healthcare teamSupporting colleagues and positive team environmentAdaptability to changing needs and environmentsWillingness to learn new skills and proceduresAttention to detail in observing and reportingPhysical stamina for demanding tasksReliability, punctuality and Professional appearance and demeanourEthical standards and confidentiality adherenceProblem-solving and critical thinkingExperience:
Prior experience is not required if you have your QQI Level 5 CertificateBenefits:
