BMS Engineer – Data Centres – Dublin
Our client is a €1.5bn turnover, multi-disciplined Tier 1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major, complex schemes with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and Life Science projects
Due to continued growth in the region of their Data Centre division, our client is now seeking an experienced BMS Engineer to join their team in Dublin.
Responsibilities
* Technical Oversight & Design Validation
Review and approve all BMS technical submittals, control philosophies, schematics, and I/O points schedules. Ensure designs meet Tier III/IV data centre standards, client requirements, and align with wider MEP and commissioning strategies.
* Management of BMS Installation & Systems Integrator (SI)
Take full responsibility for the coordination and oversight of the BMS Systems Integrator. Monitor SI progress, validate programming and logic, manage interface workshops, and ensure full alignment with commissioning timelines and system functionality.
* On-Site Quality Control & Interface Management
Oversee BMS hardware installation and integration with HVAC, power monitoring, lighting controls, fire systems, and SCADA. Ensure clear communication across trades, resolve interface issues promptly, and maintain programme momentum.
* Commissioning Coordination & Functional Testing
Work closely with the SI and commissioning teams to develop FAT/SAT procedures, witness testing, and ensure smooth integration with EPMS and client BMS dashboards. Track commissioning progress and escalate risks as needed.
* System Optimisation & Technical Handover
Support final tuning and calibration of controls to optimise system performance and uptime. Lead review of O&M manuals, training materials, and BMS handover packs to ensure client satisfaction and sign-off.
Requirements
Must have relevant degree level qualification
Must have 8+ years’ experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must be based within a commutable distance of Dublin
Must have excellent communication skills (Written and Oral)
