Job Overview
The Materials Planner is responsible for daily planning related to material management and inventory activities at ADMF, a major biologics manufacturing facility of Alexion, part of AstraZeneca's Rare Disease Business Unit. The role ensures materials are available and compliant with cGMP, corporate, and regulatory standards, facilitating effective collaboration with Manufacturing, Warehouse, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain departments to meet production targets. The Materials Planner will utilize SAP MRP to determine material requirements, coordinate with global procurement and site operations to mitigate supply risks, and drive continuous improvement in replenishment processes focusing on product availability, inventory optimization, and safety stock management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Determine required materials to support planned production orders within the SAP ERP system.
2. Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
3. Coordinate with relevant departments regarding production timelines and material readiness.
4. Manage inventory issues, planning adjustments, and cancellations.
5. Support creation, maintenance, and implementation of site Bills of Materials.
6. Review monthly forecasts and long-term planning to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing obsolescence.
7. Define, analyze, and report on material performance metrics regularly.
8. Assist in audit preparations and closeout processes.
9. Support change controls, deviations, SCNAs, SICARs, supplier updates, and CAPAs related to material and planning needs.
10. Support new material and product introductions, including clinical products, as needed.
11. Assist in finishing packaging material management when required.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proficiency in ERP systems, especially SAP.
* Minimum 3 years of materials/planning experience in an MRP environment.
* Understanding of cGMP and sterile raw material planning requirements.
* Service-oriented, self-directed, and responsible with cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Ability to independently drive results and adapt to changing priorities.
* Proven ability to expedite and ensure planning adherence.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of MRP systems.
* Experience with SAP.
* Third-level qualification in Planning, Materials Management, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management/Logistics or equivalent.
