Salary:
€33,860 - €37,980 dependent on the candidate's experience
Role Overview
The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of day-to-day operations within the People & Culture department.
The role contributes to the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives that ensure employees are engaged, supported, and working in alignment with MQI's values and organisational objectives.
The People & Culture Generalist provides operational support across a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, internal communications, compensation and benefits, and HRIS.
The role is key to fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring consistent application of HR best practices throughout the organisation.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Support with recruitment administration tasks including and not limited to: Advertising vacancies on all relevant recruitment platforms.
Monitoring applications, screening CVs and liaising with hiring Managers.
Scheduling and coordinating interviews.
Liaising with hiring Managers and candidates on offers of employment.
Ensuring all recruitment processes and procedures are adhered to by staff.
Assisting in reviewing and updating interview assessments with Managers.
Managing the recruitment inboxes and escalating emails to appropriate people.
Assisting in improving the recruitment processes and workforce planning.
Keeping recruitment data up to date and reporting on recruitment activity.
Any other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Support onboarding process for all new employees from job offer to commencement date to end of probationary period.
Offboarding
Support offboarding process for all employees who exit including administration, coordination of final payslip and conducting exit interviews.
Employee Engagement and Internal Communications
Developing and maintaining internal comms content related to all areas of responsibility
Support the delivery of employee recognition programmes, ensuring inclusivity.
Support the development and implementation of action plans arising from employee listening and feedback mechanisms.
Support in development and delivery Wellbeing initiatives.
Planning, organising and executing New Joiner Welcome days throughout the year.
Work with the Manager to develop and maintain the employee intranet site to improve internal communications and employee experience
Ownership of intranet's Wellbeing hub and other areas as assigned by the Manager.
Compensation & Employee Benefits
Monitor and manage the People & Culture shared inbox, responding to employee queries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner or escalating to relevant team members as appropriate.
Coordinate monthly payroll process (particularly new joiners, internal moves and leavers) in collaboration with the Finance team.
Communicate any payroll adjustments, including new starters, leavers, and salary changes.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll inputs from both managers and HRIS/system data.
Provide administrative support for HR projects, employee life cycle processes (e.g. contract amendments, leaver processing), and compliance documentation.
Metrics and Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and data across relevant systems, ensuring consistency and compliance with data protection standards.
Contribute to the preparation HR metrics reports for the People & Culture team.
Support the collection, analysis and interpretation of key HR metrics for the People and Culture team including recruitment and turnover rates to drive strategic decision-making.
General
Work within the framework of the overall objectives of Merchants Quay Ireland.
Be proactive and conscientious in complying with GDPR requirements.
Participate in Organisational working groups as required
Undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned from time to time in consultation with the Employee Engagement Manager and/or Head of People & Culture
Be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety Representative
Have a flexible approach to the work in response to organisational change
Person Specification
Essential
Circa 2 years' relevant experience in a HR/recruitment role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of an organisation.
Strong attention to detail and organisational and time management skills.
Commitment to MQI's mission, values, and ethos.
Desirable
Diploma or degree in HR or a related field
CIPD accreditation

This is a generalist role intended to support all areas of operations which fall under the remit of the People & Culture department.
