The Team and the Opportunity
As part of our Data Analytics and AI team, the Data Solution Architect role is pivotal in enabling our clients to derive significant value from their information assets. Through collaboration and domain expertise, our team embeds innovative data analytics solutions into existing business areas, transforming data into strategic assets. We are looking for a Data Architect who is passionate about leveraging data to solve complex problems and drive business outcomes.
You will play a key role in driving growth by developing new and existing client relationships and delivering first-class customer experience on high-profile engagements. The Data Analytics and AI team serve as trusted advisors, both practical and innovative, to embed innovative data analytics solutions into existing business areas and transforming data into strategic assets. Working across all industries, you’ll develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both internally and externally. As a senior manager, the opportunity to assess and improve our clients’ reporting policies and corporate governance processes will impact these ever-challenging areas during transformational and regulatory changes.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading diverse teams with varying skillsets, who use different Data and Analytics technologies.
* Adapting your leadership style to fit team, client, and cultural needs, and escalating risks as appropriate.
* Coaching junior team members and sharing best practices, industry trends and technical knowledge to foster professional growth.
* Lead the design and implementation of data artefacts, including data modelling, data integration, data storage, and data governance based on industry best practices and client-specific requirements.
* Hands-on experience on data modelling techniques to create Enterprise Data Models.
* Implementing data management concepts (Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Testing).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.
* Assess existing data architectures, identify improvement areas, and recommend remediation plans to optimise data management.
* Develop data migration strategies and oversee execution with data integrity and minimal disruption.
* Act as a trusted advisor on data architecture, governance, quality and security matters.
* Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and industry standards in data architecture and management, providing thought leadership.
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis and strategy, with a proven track record of creating impactful visual stories from complex datasets.
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
* Proven expertise in data modelling and database designs (ER models, Dimensional models, Data Vaults, Hierarchical/ Network models).
* Extensive experience coding for SQL and NoSQL databases, with proficiency across platforms (on-prem and cloud).
* Extensive knowledge of data integration techniques, ETL, and data warehouse design.
* Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud-based data services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Understanding of data quality principles, profiling, cleansing, and validation.
* Ability to document data models, processes, and governance frameworks clearly.
* Experience modelling and handling real-time data streams (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink).
* Experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business requirements into innovative data solutions.
* Excellent client-facing skills and ability to manage relationships at various levels.
* Strong leadership to mentor consultants and drive project outcomes.
Ideally, you will also have
* Ability to keep pace with industry trends and apply best practices to data strategy and operations.
* Experience in consulting with strategic advisory capabilities.
* Familiarity with relational, NoSQL, and cloud-based data platforms.
