Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Solution Architect
to provide architectural leadership and hands-on delivery support for a
public sector finance systems programme
.
The role focuses on the design, implementation and optimisation of
Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS)
finance solutions, working closely with finance services teams, system integrators and business stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant, best-practice outcomes.
This is a senior
techno-functional role
, requiring strong Oracle expertise across architecture, configuration, data migration and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Delivery
* Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance across all project phases, from strategy and design through to implementation and transition to operations
* Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex Oracle EBS programmes, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practice
* Act as a trusted technical advisor to finance teams, system integrators and external partners
Requirements & Design
* Analyse business requirements and contribute to Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
* Review and assure Functional Design (FD) documentation
* Ensure solutions align with public sector and Irish Civil Service standards
Oracle Functional & Technical Expertise
* Provide subject matter expertise across Oracle EBS configuration and custom development, including reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions and workflows
* Support Oracle EBS functional modules, including Purchasing, Inventory Management (R12), Fixed Assets, Order Management and General Ledger
Data, Testing & Training
* Lead advisory input to data migration, conversion and reconciliation, including legacy data extraction, validation and data quality assurance
* Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and End User Testing
* Contribute to end-user training and knowledge transfer
Operational Support
* Provide hands-on guidance to operations teams in issue analysis and resolution
* Partner with business and technical teams to drive operational efficiency
* Support continuous improvement and optimisation initiatives
Data Protection & Location Requirements
* All services must be delivered from within the
EU / EEA
* All data processing must comply with
Irish legislation and GDPR
* All data must remain within the EU / EEA at all times
* The contractor will operate under a
Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
aligned to Irish regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience
* Proven experience as a Solution Architect on large-scale Oracle EBS implementations
* Experience on at least two Oracle EBS programmes, including one within a finance shared services environment
* Experience working with system integrators and multi-vendor delivery teams
* Strong background delivering solutions in complex, regulated environments
Oracle Technical & Functional Skills
* Strong techno-functional Oracle EBS expertise, including PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Reports, Workflow Builder and OAF
* Experience delivering complex Oracle programmes while supporting business-as-usual (BAU) activities
Qualifications
* Third-level technical degree from a recognised institution
* Formal training or certification in Oracle or equivalent enterprise finance systems (e.g. SAP, JD Edwards, Agresso, Lawson, Sage)
Desirable Experience
* Public sector or shared services experience
* Delivery of Oracle solutions aligned with government standards and controls
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience supporting organisational change and operational transition
