EHS Engineer Capital Projects (Pharmaceutical Sector) Dublin (Onsite) We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to join our Capital Projects Managed Services team for a major pharmaceutical construction project in Dublin.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic site-based team known for delivering engineering excellence, sustainable practices, and tailored project solutions within the pharmaceutical industry.
As part of the on-site Projects division, you will play a critical role in ensuring and promoting the highest safety standards across all activities on a leading pharmaceutical facility.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure all site operations and project activities comply with current health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulatory requirements.
Promote a proactive safety culture and assist in the implementation of the site's HSE policies and procedures.
Conduct detailed risk assessments, method statements, and HAZOP participation where required.
Identify non-routine and high-risk tasks and ensure appropriate risk control measures are in place before commencement.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying safety improvement opportunities and working with safety champions and management to deliver initiatives.
Lead or assist with incident investigations and ensure timely closeout and implementation of corrective actions.
Deliver and support relevant safety training programs in line with site and project requirements.
Coordinate with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to review and approve EHS documentation and ensure compliance.
Maintain and manage site safety documentation and training records.
Conduct weekly site safety audits and inspections, documenting findings and following up on actions.
Liaise with the wider EHS team to share best practices and contribute to the development of team strategies and performance goals.
Requirements: A relevant third-level qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Safety Management (or equivalent).
5+ years experience in a similar EHS or Safety Engineering role within construction, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
Strong working knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation and industry best practices.
Proven experience managing site-based safety and supporting capital projects.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to influence and engage at all levels of a project team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS-related software systems.
