Our client is a national construction company.
They wish to recruit an Environmental Health & Safety Advisor for a new project in Limerick.
You will provide visible health and safety leadership and direction to the project and be part of the company-wide health and safety team to implement strategy.
We are looking for a proactive, project-focused individual with strong communication and interpersonal/presentation skills, capable of presenting information to different audiences at project and business unit levels.
Responsibilities include:
1. Conduct regular, formal site audits and carry out inspections.
2. Ensure records of statutory inspections are maintained for all activities and plant equipment.
3. Deliver Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors on site.
4. Organise and chair safety meetings for staff and sub-contractor personnel.
5. Ensure sub-contractor safety statements and required method statements are available on site, assess these statements, and assist where necessary.
6. Advise site management in drafting and communicating method statements.
7. Conduct preliminary accident investigations and handle statutory notifications.
8. Perform risk assessments and implement measures to reduce risks.
9. Oversee health, safety, and welfare risk management, incident reporting, and investigations.
10. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare standards and conduct evaluations.
