About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team as a Design Engineer. As a key member of the team, you will spearhead multiple design projects, from conceptualisation to full design approval, ensuring seamless support throughout the manufacturing and testing phases.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Developing design solutions that surpass customer expectations in terms of cost, quality, and schedule adherence.
* Meeting designated schedules and budgets for all assigned work.
* Researching and understanding internal and external specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Generating 3D designs (using SolidWorks) and manufacturing drawings to bolster our product range.
* Creating detailed on-site installation drawings.
* Developing comprehensive procedures for subcontracted teams involved in the installation process.
You will also be responsible for performing engineering calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with equipment specifications, creating and updating build procedures in alignment with our standards, integrating intricate hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems into mechanical designs, compiling comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), and adhering to our protocols for Design, Documentation, Engineering Change Management, and Production flow.
The role requires occasional hands-on involvement and travel to sites for confirming measurements and installing new systems. You will provide engineering and technical support to Production, Sales, and After-Sales Departments, support product testing, participate in customer meetings, and ensure strict compliance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System and health and safety procedures.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
* Prior experience with PDM and ERP systems.
* Knowledge of workshop equipment, such as lathes and mills.
* The ability to design such equipment.
* Essential skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, self-motivation, excellent time management and prioritisation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a team-player attitude, and the ability to foster positive relationships with suppliers.
