Overview
Head of Payment Risk and Operations at WeTravel. You will shape our payment risk management strategy and lead the implementation of short-term actions to safely grow transaction volume and revenue.
Your role
You will join at a pivotal moment as WeTravel scales from a SaaS company to a payment/fintech company. You will work closely on payment-related topics with Product, Engineering, COO, and CEO, and manage the KYC/KYB and Payment Operations teams.
Responsibilities
* Develop a payment risk management strategy
* Manage the daily operations of the KYC/KYB and Payment Operations teams, and potentially a new Risk/Compliance team
* Monitor red flags of possible fraud, escalate with relevant stakeholders
* Coordinate case management and communication of fraud incidents
* Resolve operational payment issues with PSPs, e.g., vendor payments requiring additional compliance documentation
* Review accounts with negative balances due to chargebacks and recover funds
* Build dashboards to evaluate risk scores of clients and transactions
* Update Prohibited Businesses list based on PSP requirements and executive direction
* Review new KYC/KYB SOPs for new segments
* Provide compliance documents to PSPs with the COO
* Manage filing of 1099K forms for applicable clients annually

Ensure user funds flow securely and smoothly from pay-in to payout while supporting growth and revenue objectives.
Daily activities
* Own and implement payment risk management strategy
* Oversee daily operations of KYC/KYB and Payment Operations teams
* Monitor red flags and escalate as needed
* Coordinate fraud case management and incident communications
* Collaborate with PSPs to resolve operational payment issues
* Review accounts with chargebacks and coordinate fund recovery
* Develop dashboards to assess risk scores
* Maintain and update lists of prohibited businesses
* Review new KYC/KYB SOPs for new markets
* Provide compliance documents to PSPs
* Oversee annual 1099K filing for applicable clients
Why you should apply
* 10+ years of experience in payment risks/operations or fraud management
* Experience working with PSPs or closely with them
* Experience with US and non-US markets; most payments originate from the US
* Owner mentality with strong leadership and communication
* Ability to lead a team of 10+ and collaborate with C-suite
* Travel industry knowledge is a plus but not required
