Overview
Healthcare Assistant (2025-213-MC2) – Mowlam Healthcare Services. Mount Carmel Community Hospital is expanding its care team and inviting applications for the Healthcare Assistant role. Location: Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Work day and night shifts as required.
* Support the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person‑centred care to meet residents' needs.
* Get to know residents' interests and needs, providing attention, support, and companionship.
* Promote mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility.
* Assist residents in maintaining personal appearance and hygiene while preserving dignity.
* Assist residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort.
* Plan, organise and carry out social activities.
* Maintain high level of communication with residents' families, developing good relationships.
* Assist in keeping the environment clean and hygienic.
* Contribute to maintaining Health and Safety standards.
* Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge or management.
Qualifications
* FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent). (In progress/completed)
* Experience working in a healthcare environment with knowledge of HIQA standards (preferred).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Can work independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes‑challenging environment.
* Fluent in English, both written and oral.
