Purchasing & Stock Controller (BBBH3416) Bray, Republic of Ireland
Our client is seeking an experienced Purchasing & Stock Controller responsible for managing procurement activities and maintaining accurate inventory levels across a wide range of products, ensuring stock availability, cost efficiency, and reliable supplier performance to support smooth operational performance and consistent service levels.
Salary: EUR50000 - EUR55000 per annum.
Location: Bray Co. Wicklow. Salary: DOE. Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Fully Onsite).
Responsibilities
Raise and manage purchase orders in line with operational needs
Source suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing and terms
Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues
Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure effective communication
Record all purchasing activity accurately on the ERP system (e.g. Sage)
Maintain accurate stock records and monitor inventory levels
Replenish stock to prevent shortages or overstocking
Conduct regular cycle counts and stock reconciliations
Investigate and resolve stock variances and discrepancies
Analyse stock usage to support forecasting and demand planning
Ensure correct stock rotation and storage practices (e.g. FIFO)
Coordinate inbound deliveries and support warehouse operations
Maintain accurate product, pricing, and costing data
Produce reports on stock, purchasing, and supplier performance
Support budgeting and forecasting with reliable data
Assist with import/export and logistics coordination where required
Identify and support process improvements in purchasing and stock control
Maintain ERP data accuracy and support system improvements
Requirements
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, stock control, or supply chain roles
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Experience using Sage for purchasing, stock control, and reporting
Good negotiation and supplier management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Highly organised and methodical approach to work
Commercially aware with a cost-conscious mindset
Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to take initiative
Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external suppliers
Experience in packaging, FMCG, food service, manufacturing, or distribution environments (desirable)
