We are working with a well-established and growing specialist contractor operating within the façade, curtain walling, and glazing sector. With a strong track record delivering complex, high-quality building envelope solutions, this organisation supports projects across commercial, education, and healthcare environments.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced
Quantity Surveyor
to join their Commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to be involved across the full project lifecycle within a technically strong and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing costs across multiple façade, curtain walling, and glazing projects
* Early involvement in projects, liaising with and supporting the tendering team
* Reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients
* Preparing early-stage budgets, cost plans, and cashflow forecasts
* Carrying out risk analysis, value engineering, and cost control
* Allocating work packages to subcontractors
* Managing subcontract procurement, including preparation of contract documentation
* Administering subcontract packages through to agreement of final accounts
* Identifying, analysing, and mitigating commercial risks
* Negotiating variations and commercial matters to ensure budgets are maintained
* Preparing and managing contractual claims where required
* Producing interim valuations and final accounts
* Developing and applying knowledge of relevant construction legislation and contract conditions
* Maintaining awareness of commonly used building and subcontract forms
* Attending meetings with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
* Liaising closely with site teams on day-to-day commercial matters
* Ensuring interim valuations and progress claim notices are issued in line with statutory timelines
* Supporting and overseeing project surveyors to ensure compliance with contractual and legislative requirements
* Monitoring payment processes and ensuring timely certification and receipt
Key Skills & Experience
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* 3–5 years' experience in a similar role
* Experience within façade, curtain walling, glazing, or a related specialist construction sector
* Strong working knowledge of cost control and commercial management
* Proficient in relevant commercial and measurement software (e.g. CostX, Buildsoft, Bluebeam) and MS Office
* Experience managing or supporting junior team members
* High level of attention to detail
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive, organised, and driven approach
