Enea is looking for an experienced Technical Writer who brings a strong track record of creating clear, high-quality documentation for technical software products. The role suits someone with a solid understanding of telecommunications infrastructure fundamentals and confidence in explaining complex, carrier-grade solutions used in live mobile networks. Experience in an engineering or technical role, combined with a transition into technical documentation, would be an advantage.
Role and Key Responsibilities
This role focuses on producing clear, accurate, and customer-ready documentation that supports understanding of our products, their features, and their deployment and integration within Mobile Network Operator (MNO) and Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) environments. The role works closely with product management and engineering teams, and incorporates feedback from customer-facing teams to continuously improve documentation. The successful candidate will use their experience to develop practical, technically accurate documentation for the Enea Network Security product suite.
Key responsibilities include:
* Produce, organize, and maintain our product suites documentation, including Product Overviews and Descriptions, Installation and Configuration guides, Operational and Administration guides, Release Notes, Feature and System guides, Interface specifications, and Use Case guides
* Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in engineering and product management to gather, validate, and refine technical content
* Maintain and publish documentation using hosted documentation platforms.
* Adapt technical concepts into documentation suitable for MNO and CPaaS customers including customer operations and engineering teams
* Ensure documentation aligns with company templates, styles, branding, and formatting in drafts prior to final publication to PDF and HTML.
* Maintain documentation sets across multiple products and releases
* Manage documentation workload across parallel project deliveries
* Create diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to enhance understanding of technical content.
* Collect and incorporate feedback from users to improve documentation quality and usability.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation standards, templates, and tooling
Qualifications, Key Skills and Competence
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years' experience producing product documentation for large scale technology products but "MNO/CPaaS experience" would be an advantage.
* Experience writing documentation for enterprise-grade, production systems deployed in live enterprise IT networks.
* Hands on practical experience across security and telecommunications solutions to assist in delivering and improving documentation.
* Solid experience writing in Markdown.
* Experience using git for documentation, versioning, and collaboration.
* Expertly skilled in using MSOffice365 Applications.
* Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to a technical audience.
* Strong editing and proofreading skills, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to documentation standards.
Required Skillset
* Knowledge of documentation-as-code approaches, including:
* Version-controlled documentation
* Branching and release-aligned documentation
* CI/CD pipelines for documentation publishing
* Proficiency with documentation and editing tools, including:
* Markdown for content writing
* Hugo static site generator
* Docsy for Hugo
* Microsoft365 Applications, specifically Word
* Diagramming tools e.g. Visio, Draw IO
* Working knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g. RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu) in development and production environments.
* Ability to navigate and operate confidently on Linux systems using the command line
* Experience working with configuration files and scripts commonly used in Linux-based telecom products.
* Ability to interpret and document command-line output, error messages, and system behaviour accurately for customer-facing documentation.
