The Role:
As Health & Safety Lead/Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for the continued development and monitoring of our environmental health and safety systems in conjunction with the overall management team. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with company procedures and implementing the necessary programmes and systems while being the central point for day to day HS information and issues.

Hours of work are 8am-5pm. Annualised working hours and flexibility to shipping operations required.

Key Responsibilities:
* Communicate effectively throughout the company on HS issues and actively participate in management meetings.
* Develop and manage HS programs, procedures, and work instructions.
* Carry out HS audits and inspections and report findings
* Coordinate and manage HS related training, including inductions, staff training, etc
* Support the development of job hazard and risk assessments
* Maintain records and logs and prepare periodic reports for review.
* Issue and track PPE requirements
* Effectively communicate HS requirements to staff through meetings, toolbox talks and learn from events.
* Stay up to date with regulations related to environmental, health, and safety.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
* Maintain incident reporting systems and documentation.
* Track and analyse incident data to identify trends and implement preventive measures.
* Continuously assess and improve HS management systems and processes.
* Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance HS performance.
* Develop and monitor companies' performance in net zero targets.
* Stay informed about new developments and advancements in HS practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
* Effective communication skills to articulate safety procedures and regulations clearly to diverse audiences
* Proficient in computer applications and MS Office.

* Strong administrative and literacy skills for report compilation.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Health and Safety.
* Preferably 2 years of relevant work experience.
* Certified Manual Handling Instructor, Train the Trainer, and Occupational First Aider. (additional preferable skills).

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
