The purpose of this role is to support the achievement of Community Fundraising Targets in Cork and the Munster region (including but not limited to Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, and Waterford). Key areas of responsibility include administration, relationship building and management, marketing material creation, lead list creation, CRM input and reporting, donor/volunteer stewardship, and the implementation of Focus Ireland’s community fundraising activities and campaigns.
What You Will Do
Fundraising Campaign Delivery
* Contribute to delivery of the National Fundraising Initiatives annual activity plan to meet income targets within budget.
* Support the coordination and implementation of the National Fundraising Initiatives programme.
* Create and design content for website, social media and supporter recruitment documents.
* Provide marketing administration and donor support for national campaigns.
* Share Focus Ireland’s values, participate as a full member of the Focus Ireland team and support activities across the organisation.
* Ensure all fundraising activities comply with the Charities Act, relevant data protection legislation, and adhere to best fundraising practice.
* Engage in regular one-to-one sessions with your manager and participate in relevant training and development courses.
* Be vigilant to any health, safety and welfare risks in the workplace and report concerns accordingly.
* Undertake relevant work delegated by the management team.
Supporter Care
* Handle, log and return calls, emails, and web enquiries regarding fundraising initiatives and events in a professional, friendly and caring manner.
* Ensure accurate, timely, and GDPR-compliant entry of supporter data into the CRM system.
* Proactively monitor fundraising progress and support fundraisers in achieving their goals.
* Liaise with and support the team on queries and CRM data input as required.
Network Development and Support
* Recruit and manage volunteers as required to assist in reaching fundraising targets and building awareness across Cork and the Munster region.
* Identify opportunities and develop key relationships with local community groups and associations (GAA, Rotary, ICA, Scouts, and others).
* Support partnership development and fundraising with 3rd level institutions across the region.
* Conduct school talks and cultivate relationships with schools to drive fundraising opportunities.
* Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure all school resources are up-to-date.
Marketing Administration
* Produce marketing materials for community fundraising such as posters, flyers, social ads, and videos.
* Liaise with supporters to gather post-event testimonials, images, and videos for marketing purposes.
* Coordinate fundraising materials requests and ensure timely distribution and delivery.
* Monitor and replenish community fundraising stock and equipment.
* Liaise with suppliers and manage related payment processes.
* Coordinate with the Digital Marketing Team to support the implementation of paid ad and social media campaigns.
* Support recruitment with list preparation and lead management.
* Ensure all relevant website content is accurate and updated.
* Create and distribute targeted email communications to supporters, including the monthly newsletter.
Teamwork
* Work as part of the fundraising team to maximise income and develop long-term supporter relationships aligned with the organisation’s growth strategy.
* Collaborate with colleagues within the National Community Fundraising Team to support initiatives nationally as required.
* Identify development opportunities and proactively contribute to idea generation within the National Fundraising Initiatives Team and the wider Fundraising Team.
* Support integrated marketing and partnership activities through cross-departmental collaboration.
* Attend regular fundraising meetings as appropriate.
* Maintain open communication with the team and report weekly to the Community Fundraising Officer through one-to-one meetings.
* Undertake any other relevant work as delegated by the Community Fundraising Manager.
What You Will Need
* 3rd level qualification in fundraising, marketing, communications, multimedia or a relevant discipline.
* Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in fundraising, marketing, events or a relevant field.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, and to engage and motivate supporters and volunteers.
* Design skills using Canva or equivalent.
* Strong written communication skills; experience writing for different audiences is an advantage.
* Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and multitask in a busy team environment.
* IT skills, ideally with CRM experience.
* Working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok).
* Willing and able to work outside normal office hours to support fundraising activities as required.
* Full clean driving license and access to a car (due to regional travel across Cork and Munster).
