Overview
UPMC Aut Even Kilkenny Hospital are recruiting a full time Theatre Housekeeping Operative to provide a high standard of cleaning across the assigned areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all staff, patients & visitors. Location: Aut Even Hospital. Job type: Permanent.
Responsibilities
* Clean and maintain designated areas including offices, corridors, stairwells, staff rooms.
* Clean toilet areas and replenish supplies.
* Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with site procedures.
* Refill cleaning materials and report any low stock to the supervisor.
* Use cleaning machinery (e.g., floor buffer, vacuum cleaner) as required and trained supplied.
* Follow health and safety policies.
* Report maintenance issues or hazards to the relevant facilities department.
* Ensure all cleaning is carried out to the required standards and completed within the allotted timeframe.
* Be aware of cross-contamination to ensure your trolley and equipment are used in the allocated area only and not in any other section of the hospital.
* Follow Colour Coding Policy strictly as detailed in the Cleaning SOPs.
* Undertake training in all areas as required under the Clinic Training Policy.
* Report any concerns regarding Health & Safety to the Health & Safety Representative or your supervisor.
* Always maintain a professional and friendly approach to other work colleagues.
* Flexibility in working hours to ensure cover during holidays and periods of sick leave.
* Work as part of a team to support UPMC values.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous work experience is desirable.
* Knowledge of the relevant disciplines in the Hospital pertaining to Infection Control, Quality and Risk Management, Health & Safety.
* Demonstrate excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with other disciplines.
* Able to work under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
* Willingness to adapt positively to change.
* Self-disciplined with ability to manage own time and respond to changing priorities and workload to achieve targets.
* A strong commitment to high quality customer service and continuous improvement.
