This is areplacement rolerequiring ahands-on SAS specialistwith strong experience acrossSAS programming, data engineering, production deployment, and model scoringin regulated environments.The role works closely withInsights, Modelling, Reporting, Strategy, and Implementation teams, supporting end-to-end delivery from development through production.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade SAS programs using Base SAS, SAS SQL, Data Step programming, and SAS MacrosWrite extensive SAS code to automate processes, reports, and model scoringBuild, optimise, and manage ETL / ELT pipelines in SASSet up and manage scoring processes, including SAS Scoring Accelerator for HadoopWork with large, complex banking datasets across Hadoop and relational data platformsCreate and manage data layers and data models within the Hadoop ecosystemPartner with Insights, Modelling, and Reporting teams to deploy jobs into productionCoordinate with corporate systems and platform administrators on cross-domain issuesPerform post-deployment sanity checks to ensure production stabilitySchedule and manage production jobs using SAS Management Console, Unix shell scripting, and CronActively manage end-to-end job flows, monitoring failures and resolving defectsApply strong knowledge of SAS merge techniques, Set statements, Formats, and InformatsPerform data quality checks, reconciliation, and validationProvide alternate, efficient technical solutions where applicableReport execution results to Strategy and Implementation teamsWork with business partners to resolve defects and ensure timely closureMaintain clear technical documentation and support data governance standardsEssential Skills & Experience8–10 years of strong, hands-on SAS programming experienceAdvanced expertise in Base SAS, SAS SQL, SAS Macros, and Data Step programmingExperience with SAS Management Console and production job schedulingPractical experience using Unix shell scripting and CronStrong experience in ETL, data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loadingExperience working with Hadoop-based data environmentsStrong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle )Proven experience in banking or financial services environmentsStrong understanding of risk, regulatory, credit, or reporting dataAbility to understand business requirements and use cases and translate them into technical solutionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsSelf-driven, delivery-focused, and deadline-orientedDesirable / Nice to HaveExperience with SAS Viya implementations or migrationsExperience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Datalab)Experience with Talend or other ETL toolsExposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development practicesSAS Certified Base Programmer or SAS Certified Advanced Programmer (preferred, not mandatory)Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experienceImportant NoteThis role is intended forsenior SAS professionals with strong banking or financial services experience, comfortable workinghands-on in complex, regulated data environments.
