Job Title: Research Programme Manager Reporting To: Profs Killian Hurley and Imran Sulaiman Location: Education and Research Centre, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.
School (or department): Department of Medicine.
Contract type/duration: 1 year contract with an option to extend to 3-5 years.
Salary expectation: Starting at €48,000, aligned with IUA salary scales.

Job Responsibilities: Program Coordination and Support: Assist in the development and execution of research programme goals and timelines.
Coordinate day-to-day operations of research projects, ensuring that all activities are aligned with project objectives.
Manage biobank and sample sharing with collaborators, including liaising with the legal team regarding material transfer agreements, tracking shipping and submitting ethics agreements and amendments.
Provide administrative support to researchers, faculty, and staff involved in research programmes and help to onboard new people and advertise new positions.
Organise meetings, workshops, conferences and other events related to research activities.
Research Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all research programs comply with relevant regulations, ethical guidelines, and institutional policies.
Maintain accurate records of research progress, meetings, budgets, and outcomes.
Prepare and maintain documentation for research proposals, reports, and presentations.
Data Management and Reporting: Track and report on the status of ongoing research projects, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met.
Manage databases and biobanks related to research projects, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
Prepare periodic reports for stakeholders, highlighting key findings, challenges, and recommendations.
Collaboration and Communication: Act as a liaison between researchers, external partners including patient charities, and other departments involved in research activities.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders online, in social media, in print and in personal communications to ensure timely and efficient information flow.
Assist in the preparation of presentations, grants, and other materials for conferences or funding opportunities.
Budget and Resource Management: Support budget development, tracking, and financial reporting for research programs.
Assist in resource allocation and ensure that research teams have the necessary tools and materials to conduct their work.
Knowledge & Experience - (Essential): Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Research Administration, Business Administration).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in research coordination, program management, or postdoctoral experience in a related scientific field.
Skills: Strong organisational abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent presentation and computer skills.
Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for communication, collaboration, and presentation (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom).
Experience developing and working with large datasets and databases Personal Attributes: Experience working with database software (e.g.
Red CAP) Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Able to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work in a collaborative environment.
Desirable Skills Experience in academic or scientific research settings is preferred.
Familiarity with research compliance regulations (Research ethics committee, FAIR data, GDPR, etc.) is a plus.
