About this Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for large-scale renewable energy developments in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality EIA Reports and Natura Impact Statements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement effective EIA strategies for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy.
* Provide expert environmental guidance to support planning activities, including stakeholder engagement and community consultation.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental and planning policy, contributing to internal strategy and policy submissions.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver EIA documentation, including EIAR and AA/NIS.
* Ensure all activities align with health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as national and EU legislation.
* Support junior team members in areas related to EIA and Appropriate Assessment.
* Contribute to performance management and continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Honours Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is essential.
* A postgraduate qualification (Level 9) in a relevant discipline is desirable.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience leading EIA processes for large-scale development projects.
* Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of EIA documentation.
* Strong knowledge of Irish planning law, environmental legislation, and EIA policy.
* Experience in the renewable energy sector or Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects is advantageous.
