Full-Time Pool Assistant (Mallow Swimming Pool)
The Pool Assistant will report to the Manager or their deputy and will assist, supervise and control users of the facility where necessary. The Pool Assistant will ensure that all activity areas are ready for use as required, both in terms of cleanliness and equipment. The Pool Assistant will teach and coach as required and ensure that the customer care policy of the facility is always maintained to the highest standards. The duties may include but are not limited to the following, and the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate.

Report to the Manager or Supervisors and assist, lifeguard and teach where applicable, users of the facility.
Ensure that all activity areas are ready for use as required, both in terms of cleanliness and equipment.
Teach as required and ensure that the customer care policy of the facility is always maintained to the highest standards.
Supervise activities in all areas of the facility.
Lifeguard all swimmers.
Set up, change, and store equipment, furniture, and any apparatus as required by the programme of the complex.
Assist and instruct individuals and/or groups in swimming tuition.
Promote the facility.
Supervise and control entrance areas, the foyer, pool hall, and other areas and generally assist the Manager and Supervisors in furthering the successful operation of the facility.
Effect minor repairs to equipment and maintain all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Administer First Aid where appropriate.
Receive supplies and equipment, record, and store them.
Clean pool surrounds, decks, changing rooms, toilets, and other areas.
Supervise changing rooms.
Perform general cleaning and labouring duties in the complex.
Handle reception duties as instructed by the Manager and Supervisors.
Carry and handle monies responsibly.
Conduct water testing and record results.
Write reports for accidents and incidents, etc.
Clean showers and toilets.
Perform any other duties, which from time to time, may be allocated by the Manager and Supervisors.
Enforce the rules and regulations of the facility and monitor the behaviour of all patrons.
Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, safety policies, and procedures.
Undertake training as required.
Update Life Saving, Swimming Teaching, and First Aid qualifications at prescribed intervals.
