Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 within School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Applications are invited for a 12-month Postdoctoral Research Fellow position with Dr. Emer Doheny (https://people.ucd.ie/emer.doheny, https://www.ucd.ie/neuro/ ) at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UCD, in collaboration with Dr. Jayne Carberry in the UCD School of Medicine (https://people.ucd.ie/jayne.carberry ). We are developing a new device for oropharyngeal muscle assessment, which aims to alleviate the symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and to reduce swallowing impairment in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease (PD). This role will involve contributing to the development of the device and conducting experimental studies in healthy participants. The successful applicant will lead the analysis of sensor data using advanced signal processing and supervised machine learning methods. The position is available for one year initially, with the potential of a further year depending on progress.
PD2 Salary: €53,770 - €55,282 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
