Job Description
A rapidly evolving B2B distribution company is seeking an experienced E-Commerce Lead to drive the development and performance of its digital selling platform. This key strategic role requires a forward-thinking individual who can lead online growth and transform the customer experience in a highly competitive market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full digital sales lifecycle from enhancing customer journeys and UX design to performance tracking and e-commerce optimisation. They will work closely with commercial, marketing, and IT teams to ensure the digital platform supports business goals while meeting the changing expectations of professional trade customers.
Candidates must bring a proven track record of building and scaling B2B online sales strategies and understand the unique dynamics of B2B customer behaviour and buying cycles.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the strategic direction of the companys B2B e-commerce platform to maximise online revenue and user engagement.
* Collaborate with commercial, marketing, and IT teams to align online activity with broader business strategies and customer expectations.
* Identify, analyse and act on key performance metrics to drive growth, improve conversion rates, and increase average order values.
* Continuously evaluate customer journeys to ensure a seamless digital experience across desktop and mobile.
* Coordinate and deliver ongoing improvements in site functionality, UX, SEO and digital marketing.
* Act as project manager for digital transformation initiatives and ensure timely delivery of platform enhancements.
* Stay up-to-date with digital commerce trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.
* Champion a customer-first digital culture within the organisation.
Requirements
* Strong experience in a digital or e-commerce role with a clear focus on B2B online sales.
* Proven ability to develop and implement e-commerce strategies that drive measurable commercial success.
* Demonstrable knowledge of customer behaviour within B2B digital environments.
* Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g. Magento, Shopify Plus, or custom B2B solutions).
* Competent in analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) with strong reporting skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Project management experience and ability to deliver results in fast-paced commercial settings.
* A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and commercial acumen.
