Purpose of the Role: The Tissue Viability Service is a new initiative within CHI, supported by the Burns and Plastic Surgery team.
It provides care, advice, assessment, evaluation, and treatment planning for wound management to both inpatients and outpatients across CHI.
Once established, the service will accept referrals from all clinical practitioners within CHI and offer expert support.
The CNS/CNSc and ANP in Tissue Viability will work within the Burns and Plastic Surgery team, reviewing, treating, and advising on referrals.
They will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality, safe service.
As the role develops, the CNS/CNSc will deliver holistic, service-driven episodes of care, treat and refer children across clinical networks, and lead nurse discharge processes to reduce outpatient follow-up.
Essential Criteria: Be a registered nurse/midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais and Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann or be eligible for registration.
Be registered in the relevant division(s) of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered.
In exceptional cases, be registered in another division, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Have at least 1 year's post-registration full-time experience or equivalent in the relevant division.
