We have an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned Senior Group Underwriting Manager to join a leading global insurance and assistance provider. Based in either Dublin or Paris, this high-impact role will suit an experienced professional with strong underwriting expertise, a strategic mindset, and the ability to influence and lead within a dynamic, multinational environment.
About the Senior Group Underwriting Manager role
The position reports functionally to the Regional Head of Group Underwriting – Europe & Americas region.
Duties for this role include (but are not limited to):
* Support the Regional Head in providing leadership across the team, acting as a key delegate on strategic initiatives, pricing approvals, and high-impact negotiations.
* Partner in steering departmental objectives, ensuring targets are met and progress aligns with overarching regional plans.
* Oversee the assessment and sign-off of underwriting proposals for both new and renewing clients, aligning decisions with commercial growth ambitions.
* Ensure client-focused, timely responses to pricing and quotation requests, maintaining competitive positioning while upholding underwriting discipline.
This position would suit a Qualified Actuary with 5+ years PQE with Pricing experience and Experience in Health insurance an advantage. Candidates must have a solid actuarial and technical background, and ideally have experience of the following:
* Delivering actuarial analysis related to pricing, reserving, or valuations within life or pension domains
* Using actuarial modelling tools and systems such as Excel, Prophet, or similar platforms
* Translating complex actuarial results into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
* Navigating regulatory environments including Solvency II, IFRS, or other relevant reporting standards
