Network and Application Support Administrator
KennCo Underwriting, one of Ireland's largest MGAs, is looking to hire a Network & Application Support Administrator to work in their busy IT Department. Located on the Grange Road in Rathfarnham, this exciting and innovative underwriting agency is looking for someone dynamic who can fit into the environment at KennCo. As the Network & Application Support Administrator, you will have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a computer-related discipline.
It is desirable that the candidate has 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry (preferably insurance) and proven experience working with and managing 3rd party relationships.
Day to day tasks:
* Proactively seek to understand internal system and hardware requirements.
* Managing insurance policy system data and troubleshooting as needed.
* Helpdesk management and prioritization of IT queries and incidents.
* Manage network DR and software projects as well as support cases simultaneously.
* Liaise with 3rd parties.
* Work closely with senior network engineer and app support specialist to resolve issues.
* Ongoing maintenance on the network.
* Answer and resolve support cases across all severity levels to an extremely high standard.
* Meet all SLAs in relation to response and resolution times.
* Own and track customer issues using our ticket tracking system.
* Own all customer-facing communications, ensuring the message is concise and professional.
* Share and document knowledge.
* Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot networking, replication, performance, and space issues.
* Management and documentation of office equipment.
* Responsibility for comms room and office floor maintenance/cleanup.
* Responsibility for full company DR solutions across network email and phones.
* Security across all platforms.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
* Ability to manage and work with 3rd parties, first point of contact and liaison working on network/DR/software/hardware projects.
* Technical knowledge of Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows Server, and SQL Server environments.
* Windows Operating Systems and Active Directory experience.
* Good communication and listening skills, particularly the ability to communicate with those who are not technically skilled.
* Office 365 and office package experience (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
* Understanding of network protocols TCP/IP, DNS, IPV4, VPN, FTP, etc.
* Previous experience working on Freshdesk or similar helpdesk software.
* Experience working with JIRA.
Experience & Qualifications:
* BSc in Computing or similar discipline (STEM).
* 2-4 years previous experience in a similar role.
* Any knowledge of insurance systems/policies is highly beneficial.
* Good proven time management and priority management capabilities.
* Able to work in a busy and fast-paced environment with multiple high priority requests.
* Good proven troubleshooting skills/proven ability to work on support issues.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
