Orange Recruitment are sourcing an M&E Surveyor who will be responsible for the commercial, technical, and surveying aspects of mechanical and electrical packages across a range of building services projects. Working alongside project managers, design teams, engineers, and clients, you will ensure that all M&E works are accurately quantified, procured, valued, and managed from initial tender through to project completion. This role is ideal for someone looking to strengthen their technical expertise within M&E surveying, gain exposure to complex building services installations, and play a key part in delivering high-performing, cost-efficient projects. You will be an integral member of the commercial team, contributing to the ongoing development of best practice within the M&E division. Responsibilities: Carry out detailed measurement, quantification, and cost analysis for both mechanical and electrical packages from drawings, specifications, models, and site information. Manage commercial and contractual elements of M&E works throughout the project lifecycle tender, contract award, installation stages, and final account. Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, forecasts, and monthly reports for all building services elements. Lead the procurement of M&E subcontractors and suppliers, including tender enquiries, evaluations, recommendations, and contract administration. Work closely with M&E project engineers and site teams to track progress, validate installations, and ensure accurate cost reporting. Maintain open communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, providing clear and timely commercial updates. Support value engineering exercises by identifying cost-effective alternatives, technical solutions, and opportunities to optimise performance. Ensure all commercial activities are completed in line with company procedures, industry standards, and relevant legislation. Participate in site surveys, technical reviews, and design coordination meetings to support commercial and technical decision-making. Requirements: Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Building Services, Construction Economics, or a related discipline. 5+ years' experience in an M&E Surveying or Quantity Surveying role within building services or M&E contracting. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, installation processes, and associated commercial management. Excellent analytical, negotiation, measurement, and reporting skills. Ability to work proactively across multiple projects and manage workloads effectively. High level of IT literacy, including proficiency with Excel, estimating tools, measurement software, and digital construction platforms.
