This Sales Development role involves serving as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships and identify areas for improvement to meet commercial targets.
* Develop a thorough understanding of our products and service offerings to better upsell and cross-sell to customers.
* Secure sales opportunities of products and services; proactively or reactively.
* Work with internal teams to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure key performance indicators are being met.
Account Growth and Management
* Responsible for selling Fuelcard to new and existing Commercial (Business) customers throughout Ireland.
* Responsible for the growth, development, and retention of an assigned commercial customer book.
* Interact professionally with potential customers via phone, email, telephone conferencing, webinars, and face-to-face meetings.
* Generate new business development using a broad range of approaches with success measured by volume (litres) sold, new customers secured, margin, and cost-per-lead achieved.
* Negotiate contracts, rebates/discounts offered to maximise profits.
* Monitor various customer reports ensuring retention levels are maximised.
* Report regularly to your manager on Sales Pipeline, Prospects & Customer Retention.
* Achieve monthly targets – volume, margin, new business, and outbound calls.
* Identify upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities and communicate with the sales team regularly.
* Prospect new business through telephone and email-based selling throughout Ireland. Key areas include:
* Proactive research and generation of leads.
* Targeting new business prospects, developing relationships.
* Attend customer meetings when applicable.
Process manual transactions, monthly statements/invoices/new cards, and Fuelcard renewals.
* Display initiative to develop and maintain a proactive attitude towards customer and customer requests.
* Liaise with other departments including accounts and credit control.
* Take ownership for customer queries or issues, providing first-call resolution where possible.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 2+ years' experience in a sales or customer service role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
* Must be data-driven and possess exceptional skills in relationship-building, negotiation, and business plan execution.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
