We're Hiring: Person in Charge (Residential & Respite Services)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Person in Charge (PIC) to lead the delivery of residential and respite services supporting adults and children with intellectual disabilities across Galway.
This is a key leadership role that blends hands-on service management, staff supervision, and compliance oversight, all within a supportive, person-centred care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day running of residential and short-break services.
* Lead, supervise and support a team of social care staff to maintain high standards of care.
* Ensure full regulatory compliance with HIQA, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.
* Manage budgets, rosters, and staffing within agreed service frameworks.
* Support the development and implementation of individualised care plans.
* Build strong relationships with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.
About You:
* 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in health or social care.
* Level 7+ degree in Social Care, Intellectual Disability/Psychiatric Nursing, or related field.
* A management qualification and current registration (where applicable).
* Strong working knowledge of HIQA regulations and residential care standards.
* Full driving licence and access to own transport.
* Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.
